Why I Like PLR Content – Some of it Anyway!
I never use PLR content (private lable rights) without editing it – usually a lot! But I buy it now and then because it gives me great ideas and a platform to launch them from. What I mean is, by purchasing the latest PLR materials, I can see what is hot right now and not waste time writing about old news.
I usually buy PLR article packs and ebooks with unrestricted or unlimited rights, and then scan through the material. If the writing is decent, it is easy to just rework some sentences, shift things around and have a publishable article in 30 to 60 minutes. So instead of researching everything on my own then outlining the article and finally getting around to writing it, which can take me hours to days, I get to go straight to the tweaking.
That is the true value of PLR that most Internet marketers miss. The time you save by not having to do all of the in-depth research and organizing yourself. It is infinitely easier to take a prewritten article and rework it to make it unique than start with an idea and a blank screen.
If writing really is not your thing, you can even take a PLR article or ebook and record it to make an audio. If you’re a little more techy, you could turn it into a video with some photos (PLR or your own/or purchased work) and special effects and walla! Entirely unique content that you could even sell “resale” or PLR rights to, yourself!
You can use some PLR right out of the box. If you are publishing a newsletter, for instance. You will not have to worry about duplicate content and can use it as-is. But keep in mind it may not be up to your standards, and could reflect badly on you, so always review it for clarity and accuracy first.
Beware the Terrible, Horrible Time-Wasting PLR Content Monster!
There are some PLR packages out there that can suck you into a swirling black vortex of time-wasting hell, too, so you need to be careful. I find that if there are typos and improper use of English in the sales materials, it is likely that the content will have at a minimum sections that are simply incomprehensible. And there is nothing worse than trying to rework an article that doesn’t make sense in the first place!
Time is in short supply these days, and it just makes sense to take all of the help you can get. Good PLR content can be a great benefit to you and your audience. So go forth and Google “PLR,” “private label rights,” and “resale rights,” to see what you find!
